Sensei Scottie C. Jackson
Mr. Scottie C. Jackson is a Yondan (4th Degree Black Belt) in the Ju Ki Do system of martial arts, founded by Kyoshi Ivan Ujueta and characterized by leading a gentle, but powerful, way of life. Mr. Jackson has trained directly under Kyoshi Ujueta since 2000, earning the title of Sensei in 2014, and has continuously demonstrated his ability to inspire and empower others in all aspects of life. His passion for martial arts is equaled only by his love of teaching and motivating others.
DISCIPLINE AND HARD WORK
Born in White Plains, New York, Sensei Jackson was raised in Tampa, Florida, by a loving and extremely educationally conscious mother and a stern, 27-year United States Air Force Veteran father, and so developed a deeply ingrained sense of discipline at an early age. This discipline was later fostered by his enlistment in the United States Air Force and again reinforced during his tutelage under Kyoshi Ujueta. Discipline and hard work became the guiding forces in his life as he climbed through the ranks of his martial arts training while also serving as the Vice President of a technical service provision company in San Antonio, TX.
RESILIENCE AND INITIATIVE
Due to a national market crisis in 2008, Mr. Jackson made a crucial decision that same year to take control of his future by launching his own software development and technical service company, Levisite Enterprises. Demonstrating his ability to succeed even during intense difficulty, he was able to not only establish, but grow, the client base of his company and create financial stability for his family in the unstable economy. Mr. Jackson has also produced, acted in, and directed various short films, as well as served for several years as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at a local church. His unique journey through life has provided him with an arsenal of experiences that he leverages as real-life examples in his teaching methodology.
JU KI DO
Mr. Jackson attributes a level of his martial arts success to his almost inexhaustible eagerness to teach others. He adopted the belief that the best way to learn is to teach and then put that knowledge into immediate effect. Through his work with students as young as 3 years old, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to make the most grueling task or workout into a fun, learning experience.
His dedication and commitment to expanding the influence of Ju Ki Do paid off greatly in 2013 when he purchased the San Antonio Medical Center location of Professional Karate Institute Mixed Martial Arts (PKIMMA) from Kyoshi Ujueta. This enabled Kyoshi to extend the reach of Ju Ki Do to Castroville, Helotes, and Boerne Texas, by opening schools in each of these cities.
Sensei Jackson serves his community, and the country at large, by teaching life principles and concepts that are exemplified through the martial arts but are applicable to all areas of life because they are ultimately based on biblical principles. His in-class persona, as well as his online presence, are characterized by his genuine and unfailing desire to help people to become their very best self. He is truly a scholar warrior and is living the Gentle, Powerful Way of Life.
